4b1334db9f Removed hard coded directory paths 
- Removed references to core directory.
- Switch some references to tools directory
- Added preferences variables where appropriate

2824bcf649 Remove hard coded paths pass 1 
- displaySplashWindow() now takes an optional path to a bitmap file.
- Missing, unavailable and warning texture paths now come from
GFXTextureManager static methods.
